A few children have received pen licences these children include; Congratulations to these people who have received pen licences and I'm looking forward to more applications!

A big thank you and congratulations to all the children who have applied for the following jobs for Celebration Day on Monday:
Cameraman/News Reporter, Waiters and Sous Chef. Thank you to all your efforts this week. Thank you to Tayla (SA1) and Georgie (SA2) who are now updating the Blog with regular activities and comments. Thanks girls this is a big help. Have a fabulous and well-deserved weekend Year 4. I look forward to seeing you all on Monday, all dressed up! It appears our poor class pet 'Bob' has been forgotten lately. He has expressed his loneliness at being left in the classroom some evenings. Please take him home if it is your turn on the list, don't forget to check the list regularly and help by reminding your classmates when it is their turn.
Our class have just begun to view and review an online digital story titled 'Inanimate Alice'. We will be interacting regularly with this and I would like the children to find another text, digital or conventional that they can find comparisons between including aspects such as setting, characters, plot, symbols, purpose and imagery. Comparisons can be shared with the class.
I look forward to seeing and hearing the results! Mrs K Due to the change of date for the Athletics Carnival which will now be held Tuesday of Week 10, our second Celebration Day will be held next Monday the 20th June. It will run all day beginning at 10:30. The theme is Black and Fluoro dress. The children may come to school dressed in their celebration clothes. All parents welcome to pop in throughout the day to join in. A note will be coming home tomorrow with all the details.
Can't wait! Mrs K A big thank you to all our visitors who visited our classroom yesterday to share in the learning, fun and excitement that made yesterday a huge success. Also I'd like to thank all our parents who made such a wonderful contribution to the outfits and general preparation of the day. The children had an amazing time and I really believe their learning has exceeded all my initial expectations. I'm very proud of the class and am looking forward to our next Celebration Tuesday in Week 10 which will celebrate Ramadan and the Moon Festival.
Congratulations to Wil and Angus who read the Gettysburg Address (by Abraham Lincoln), a very tricky piece of writing indeed! Also a huge thank you to Max who played two tunes on the keyboard one French (Alouette) and one American (Marines Hymn). These added another element to our day which added to the meaning behind why we celebrate and commemorate various events around the world. Well done class on your Group Challenge in the afternoon. It certainly was a challenge and I think it would be worthwhile repeating. There is potential for deep learning through this activity. Outstanding Year 4. DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT OUR HOME PAGE FOR THE GALLERY PHOTOS OF THE DAY. At 11:30 next Wednesday 18th May, Year 3 & 4 students will participate in an informative Video Conference that supports Australian History outcomes and is directly related to the Stage 2 Excursion in June. Yesterday a note went home with the newsletter that requests the remainder of the amount due. A $40 deposit was paid last term with the remaining balance being $200.
PLEASE NOTE: A green Small Schools hat MUST be worn during the excursion. If you do not have one these can be purchased for $15 from the office. The Participation & Code of Conduct Consent form and Medical note MUST be returned by Friday 10th June at the latest. Bob the Monkey is our class pet and has been visiting the homes and families of all our class members since the beginning of the year.
Once again, this term, Bob is very busy meeting extended family, having family picnics, meeting family pets and generally having a wonderful time outside the classroom. Well done Year 4 on showing Bob around and reporting back to the class in his special book, on all the wonderful things you have been doing with him. Keep up the great work Year 4 ... and Bob :) |
