Next week we are lucky to be having a student teacher Mrs Jane Tuxford who will be working with our class for 3 weeks. Mrs Tuxford has worked at Perthville on Kindergarten this year and is really looking forward to working in 3/4. It's going to be great to have an extra pair of hands on deck to assist with all our wonderful activities.
Week 4 is Multiplication and Division week so get ready to go crazy with activities and speed tests.
Monday - 4 x tables Tuesday - 6 x tables Wednesday - 7 x tables Thursday - 8 x tables Friday - 9 x tables + Assessment PRIZES, AWARDS AND LAUGHS ON OFFER! Practise, practise, practise ..... We've practised all the above tables for the whole year, I'm looking for improvement in your own personal scores. Good luck and get ready for some fun! Students will be studying the following topics in their Visual Literacy Unit. Ideally these will take 1 week each, however due to the busy nature of schools and classrooms there may be slight variations.
Week 2 - All About Me: A multimedia autobiography (photos from home would be great) Week 3 - My Family History Video Essay Week 4 - Word Builders: A story about a new word I've learnt Week 5 - Digital Diary: photojournalism assignment Week 6 - My Digital Book Review Week 7 - Creativity - an expository essay Week 8 - Tell a tale Week 9 - Phoetry (no that is not a spelling error!) Week 10 - Assessment activity Students are not expected to plan ahead, however I know many of you like to, so if you need further information, check out the websites on the Home page for links to useful websites or ask me during the day. This term students will be studying Visual Literacies. They will be given a focus topic each week and plan their topic between Monday and Wednesday. Thursdays and Fridays will be set aside to film, produce and publish. Students can bring in their own device on one or both of these days if parental permission is given. All devices must be brought into the classroom and be put in the storeroom for security and will only be used during class time. Please contact me if you have any queries regarding these activities.
Homework will commence in Week 2 this term. Students can submit their homework in weeks 4, 6, 8 and 10. The new homework Matrix will be sent home next Monday.
I'm looking forward to seeing more amazing and creative work this term. |
