Once again our weekly spelling words will be available on the website under the "Weekly Spelling" tab. This is a good way to practice the words early in the week before the Friday Post test.
Homework starts this week and will be due on Friday of Week 3. Students will be given a new Matrix on Monday 2nd May. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding this.

From 4th - 6th March families are invited to attend the 40th Annual Portland Art Exhibition. Held at the Crystal Theatre, Wolgan Street, Portland, it proves to be an exciting array of talent from well-known artist Greg Hyde who works in various media including oils and etchings to young artist Melanie Sweetnam, an abstract painter who explores novel methods of applying paint and employs a wide range of collaged materials to evoke a sense of beauty.

After a visit with authors Jeffery Doherty and Louisa Clarkson today at the book launch of "Olivia Stone and the Trouble with Trixies", both authors have offered to come and do writing workshops with the class. Louisa Clarkson will be doing a session of 'Superheroes' in week 8 (15.3.16) and Jeffery Doherty will be doing a session in week 9 (22.3.16). A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE CHILDREN WHO ATTENDED MR DOHERTY'S BOOK LAUNCH AT THE EGLINTON COUNTRY FAIR - WHEN I SPOKE WITH HIM HE WAS VERY EXCITED TO HAVE HAD VISITORS FROM PERTHVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL. For our concert item this year students will be portraying the period of time from 1813 to present time. Students will be wearing black pants, black t-shirt, black shoes and need an old collared work/farm shirt. For further information, please don't hesitate to drop in and see me.
